The Courage to Be Different and Own It

Imagine two gardens... One is grey, black, flat, and faded, where the vegetation is stripped of all colors, shapes, and flowers—something very mundane and common. Perhaps reassuring because nothing stands out. No waves, just a vast, flat emptiness. Now, imagine a sumptuous garden—abundant, vibrating with colors, shapes bursting from every corner, where everything finds coherence through its own singularity. It breathes life into an incredible, inspiring symphony of sight and vibration.

From a very young age, we are taught to fit into a mold, not to stand out too much, and to be "like everyone else", or rather, like the masses, the majority. We are told not to make waves, not to disrupt, not to shock, or make too much noise. To stand up straight, to be polite and kind (even to those who do not deserve it, those who fail to respect your light and your sacred space). We are told to behave and speak softly. To be a good girl or a good boy.

Mind you, I am not talking about being aggressive, disruptive, shouting at everything, or being ill-intentioned in our relationships with others. We are a species that lives in groups, within a community. In my view, the goal is not to behave recklessly in society. It is important, depending on the situation, place, and context, to adapt to your audience and those you speak to.

But what I am addressing here is a broader, global trend that has been shaping our world for several decades now: a push toward conformity and a "clean line." Yet, a clean line can be beautiful, poetic, chaotic, filled with relief, texture, life... and respect for others, but above all, for yourself, with love.

To be colorful, radiant, anchored, aligned, abundant, expansive, sparkling, luminous, solar, enthusiastic, playful, and to see life and the everyday differently than most is not an attack, an aggression, or a declaration of war against normalcy—which establishes a framework and therefore holds its own absolute importance. Instead, it is a declaration of sovereignty.

It is an act of saying: I am here, I exist fully, and I vibrate at this frequency.

It takes true courage to vibrate at one's own frequency.

The people who inspire us the most are almost always those who dared to be themselves, fully, and without apology.
